Patient Transportation Specialist

Position Summary
Innovative Healthcare is seeking a reliable and compassionate PRN Patient Transportation Driver to provide safe and timely transportation for patients traveling to and from appointments at our Baltimore-area clinics. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, has excellent customer service skills, and maintains a strong commitment to safety and professionalism.
The Patient Transportation Driver serves as an important extension of our patient care team by ensuring patients arrive at their appointments comfortably, safely, and on time.
Essential Responsibilities
Safely transport patients to and from scheduled appointments at Innovative Healthcare clinics throughout the Baltimore area.
Assist patients with entering and exiting the vehicle when needed while maintaining patient dignity and safety.
Maintain a courteous, professional, and patient-focused attitude at all times.
Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and transportation safety procedures.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns.
Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, and other required documentation.
Coordinate with clinic staff regarding patient schedules, transportation needs, and route changes.
Ensure vehicle cleanliness and readiness for daily use.
Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and communicate issues to management as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to meet all company driving and motor vehicle qualification requirements.
Must pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) review and any required background screenings.
Prior professional driving, transportation, healthcare, or customer service experience preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to safely assist patients with mobility challenges.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
Ability to assist patients entering and exiting vehicles.
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds as needed.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
Schedule
PRN/As-Needed basis.
Flexible schedule based on patient transportation demands and clinic needs.
Availability during weekday business hours is preferred.
