    POSITION TITLE:   Cashier/Receptionist

    DEPARTMENT: Service

    FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

    POSITION SUMMARY:  Provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks.  The cashier/receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate associates, mail distribution, flow of correspondence as well as additional clerical duties. The Cashier is primarily responsible for receiving payment from customers for goods and services, and recording the amount received accurately.

    AVAILABILITY:

    The hours for this position are Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Days off will be Sunday and Monday.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Answers incoming calls and directs the caller to the appropriate person.
    • Communicates with callers in a professional, courteous and efficient manner, minimizing the time a caller is put on hold. Informs caller if there is no answer, requesting if they would like to leave a message.
    • Takes messages, if requested by the caller, including full name, time of call, reason for call and return number. Communicate messages to the appropriate party in a timely manner. 
    • For general inquiries, provides callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website, and other related information.
    • Receives and issues a receipt for cash, checks and credit card payments, following the procedure set out for accepting payment (e.g., checks verified, etc.)
    • Records amount received in the computer and secures monies in the register/drawer.
    • Makes change and issues receipts to customers.
    • Review and record totals as shown on the receipt tape and verifies against cash on hand.
    • Refers customers who have additional questions or complaints to the service advisor or other appropriate person.
    • Ensures all service records are filed timely and accurately.
    • Attends meetings as scheduled.
    • Assist with other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing, and other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as repair orders and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, employees and the general public.

    OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

    Skill and ability to operate a computer, Microsoft Excel and Word, etc., organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, operate office equipment and use company software.

    REASONING ABILITY: 

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
