    COMPANY DESCRIPTION

    Headquartered in Nashville, TN, our team of independent FedEx Ground contractors manages a fleet of 275 trucks and over 225 employees across the United States. Our routes include FedEx Ground, Home Delivery, and Linehaul.

    In addition to serving as Independent FedEx Ground Contractors, we offer extensive consulting services to new and experienced FedEx Ground route owners. These services include business valuations, operations/fleet management optimization, route efficiency analysis, and more.

    Finally, we operate as FedEx Ground route brokers, maintaining an exclusive listing of routes (operations) for sale across the United States. We give each of our route sellers access to a deep pool of qualified and educated buyers.

    JOB SUMMARY: 

    The HR Specialist is a developmental role responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR Director and COO in supporting all entities. The HR Specialist has responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, reporting, onboarding, and performance management.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Implements employee recognition programs.
    • Handles reporting as it relates to HR and Operations.
    • Occasionally, performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
    • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications during peak season.
    • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • 1 - 3 years of HR or administration experience required
    • Must have exceptional written/verbal communication skills and professionalism
    • Experience in a fast-paced start-up environment preferred
    • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field preferred
    • Proficiency with Paylocity preferred

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. 

    TRAVEL:

    Travel as needed, up to 10 %

    SALARY:

    $35,000 - $45,000
