Emergency Mitigation Technician
Primary purpose of the role: The Mitigation Technician is an essential member of the operations team. The mitigation technician will be primarily responsible for water extraction and for the cleanup/demolition phase of residential homes or commercial businesses that have experienced water, fire, mold or other damage.
MITIGATION TECHNICIAN - JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Understand the operation of drying & restoration equipment such as dehumidifiers, air movers, HEPA filtered equipment, and other remediation equipment
· Perform water mitigation, mold remediation, and fire damage mitigation according to IICRC guidelines
· Have basic construction knowledge and be familiar with using basic hand tools and hand held power tools
· Basic labor tasks, such as demolition and removal of debris
· Must have valid drivers license, good driving record, and ability to drive vans and large cube trucks
· Reliable transportation to and from our office
· Must pass background check and/or drug test
· General work hours from 8am to 5pm, nights & weekends as required by work flow
· Must participate on company on-call schedule
· Professional appearance, demeanor, and work ethic
· Complete project related paperwork and document projects as required
MITIGATION TECHNICIAN - PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
· Regularly use hand tools in order to remove damaged building materials from buildings
· Must be able to don half face and/or full face respirator
· Ability to use stairs and regularly climb and descend ladders of varying heights
· Frequently stand, squat, crawl, and/or walk for hours at a time
· Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with others
MITIGATION TECHNICIAN - WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is generally performed in residential homes, commercial businesses, and/or municipal buildings throughout Western NC. Occasionally projects will require working in extreme temperatures, confined spaces, dusty, wet, or other adverse conditions.
