The Carpenter is primarily responsible for completing residential and commercial repair jobs that are assigned by the Project Managers of the reconstruction department. This role must complete all repairs within the time frame of the job and within industry standards.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Work safely in residential and commercial properties that have been damaged by fire, water, storm, and/or mold
Complete assigned repair jobs for residential and commercial properties using a punch list
Complete work orders as given by reconstruction department
Communicate job progress with Estimators, Project Directors, Production Manager and/or Coordinators
Demolition of structural damage to properties through the use of hand and power tools
Complete measurements and calculate size and amount of material needed on assigned jobs
Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials to meet the job needs
Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials on assigned jobs
Inspect damaged framework
Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
Complete drywall projects
Clean up assigned job sites; may be doing a days’ worth of work on different job sites
May be traveling to more than one job site per day
Keep equipment clean and organized in the shop and in the vehicle
Responsible for unloading trash and materials in assigned areas
Check work throughout the project to ensure it is up to code and specifications
Complete assigned jobs within budget and on time
Assist mitigation department with board ups and tarping roofs
Complete jobs with mitigation department as requested
Responsible for recording your time and coding it to the appropriate jobs
Set and complete SMART goals throughout your jobs and employment
Other duties as assigned
Competency – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of carpentry skills
Knowledge of finish carpentry, framing, structural work, drywall, and trim carpentry
Knowledge of technology (iPhone, iPad)
Customer Service Skills
Communication skills via phone and face to face
Math skills in order to accurately measure materials and budget materials within estimates
Mechanical skills to work with various tools and machines
Critical Thinking skills
Ability to learn and operate our primary operating systems: RMS, TSheets
Ability to work safely with hand and power tools
Ability to answer and communicate with customers over the phone and face to face
Ability to work independently
Ability to work in a team of Technicians
Ability to work within hazardous environments safely
Ability to maintain an acceptable Background Check and Motor Vehicle Record Check
Ability to operate a company vehicle safely
Ability to represent the company culture through our Truth, Values, Vision, Mission, and 10 Serving Basics
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required
5 plus years’ experience in the construction/repair industry as a Tradesman/Carpenter
Preferred Education and Experience
7 plus years’ experience in finish carpentry work
Experience with roofing
Physical Requirement
Must be able to stay in a stationary position up to 25% of the time within a vehicle.
Constantly moves about job sites
Constantly positions self to move about job sites; stairs, walkways, roofs, crawl spaces
Occasionally ascends and descends a ladder to complete jobs
Must be able to observe and perceive information on a computer and documents
Must be able to communicate and converse with customers and internal employees over the phone and face to face
Frequently will lift up to 60lbs.
Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
Work Environment
The employee will be constantly working outdoors and be exposed to outdoor weather condition. The employee will occasionally be working indoors in the office. The employee will be exposed to air conditioning and heat. The employees will be exposed to normal noises throughout the office.
Travel
This position will require up to 100% local travel to jobs sites (as needed).

Compensation: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
