    Job Title: Sports Coordinator

    Department: JOM and Youth Services

    Supervisor: Tribal Administrator

    Type: Part Time – $17.00/ Hr.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Under supervision, the sports coordinator will organize, supervise, coordinate, and promote a variety of recreational and sports program for the JOM and Youth Programs. Provides leadership and administration of sports/ skills program served by Inter Tribal Sports. Exercises no supervision.

    TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Plans and develops systems and procedures to evaluate and improve the growth and quality for the recreations and social programs offered by Inter Tribal Sports (ITS);

    Directs, plans, and organizes a year-round sports program which includes softball, basketball, soccer, and golf;

    Collects, analyzes, and reports program data for evaluation and grant purposes;

    Promotes and creates interest and participation of members in the Pauma community in recreational activities and sports programs offered by Inter Tribal Sports through field trips, events, and fund raising activities;

    Maintains and organizes sports equipment for each sport;

    Requisitions and submits for approval of supplies and other materials needed for ITS Sports program;

    Establishes and maintains cooperative planning and working relationships with partner organizations, tribal communities, and ITS;

    Assists in the recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers and coaches;

    Prepares promotional materials using multi-media and social media to communicate and provide updates to participant groups and the community at large;

    Represents the Pauma tribe in ITS mandatory meetings and communication regarding the ITS Program;

    Establishes and maintains sports records, submits applications, and communicates with parents, JOM, Youth, and ITS regarding program updates and success, and;

    Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Organizes transportation and will eventually transport children to sports events.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Must have experience working with children of various age groups

    Knowledge of games, rules, and safety procedures, programs, and a variety of sports

    Knowledge of sports equipment and how to maintain

    Ability to communicate with children, parents, and authorities with respect, kindness, and clarity

    Ability to observe and monitor children’s behavior and enforce safety and sports rules

    Certified in First Aid, CPR, and a current Food Handler’s card

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    · Equivalent to a high school diploma.

    · Must have a valid California Driver License. Must commit to receiving a Class B License withing 4 months of hire

    · Must pass a security background check and drug screening

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

    · At-will.
