  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The Pavement Marking Technician will be responsible for applying pavement markings, including lines, symbols, and other traffic control indicators, on roadways, parking lots, and other surfaces. This role requires precision, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Apply pavement markings (e.g., lines, arrows, crosswalks) using specialized equipment such as paint trucks, hand-held applicators, and stencils.
    • Prepare surfaces for marking by cleaning, removing debris, and ensuring proper adhesion.
    • Operate and maintain pavement marking equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
    • Follow project specifications, blueprints, and traffic control plans to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Set up and maintain traffic control devices, such as cones and signs, to ensure a safe work zone.
    • Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and durability.
    • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous experience in pavement marking, road construction, or a related field preferred but not required (on-the-job training provided).
    • Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not mandatory.
    • Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
    • Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Knowledge of traffic control and safety standards is a plus.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

    Additional Information

    Schedule:

    • Monday to Friday
    • 20-23.50/hr depending on experience
