Pawlicy Advisor is a fast-growing, NYC-based, venture-backed startup focused on helping pet owners around the country find the right health products for their pets, starting with pet health insurance. Pet insurance’s popularity is growing rapidly as pet owners seek protection from the high cost of veterinary care. By providing a pet insurance marketplace that takes into account a pet’s breed-specific health risks, we’re able to help people find the right policy and avoid relevant coverage exclusions. We also save pet owners money by analyzing pricing differences and premium increases over the lifetime of an animal.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We’re looking for a licensed P&C Insurance Agent to join our early-stage team and help our customers easily purchase the right pet insurance product. You will manage customer relationships, facilitate quoting, education, and purchasing, while also fielding in-bound customer requests. You will be required to work with a variety of different technologies and develop a deep understanding of pet insurance.

THIS JOB IS PERFECT FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO HIT THE GROUND RUNNING IN THEIR INSURANCE CAREER WITH A HIGH-EXPOSURE ROLE AT AN UP-AND-COMING INSURTECH COMPANY.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Respond to in-bound calls, emails, and website chat messages from pet owners who have questions about pet insurance
• Act as the primary customer insurance agent contact during normal business hours
• Help pet owners generate insurance quote and purchase policies
• Explain insurance policy coverages
• Answer in-bound insurance questions from veterinary professionals

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Actively Licensed Agent in Property & Casualty
• At least one year experience in an insurance sales or insurance customer service role

DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed Agent in Property & Casualty in every U.S. state.
• Fluency in Spanish

We’re a small team, and you’ll be directly report the CEO. He’ll be your main point of contact and mentor as you onboard/grow at the company. We’re planning on rapidly growing the team over the next few months (hence this job posting!).

WHERE IS THE PAWLICY ADVISOR TEAM LOCATED?

Pawlicy is headquartered in NYC. We all work remotely from home: some of us are in the NYC area, and some are in Georgia and California.

WHAT’S THE INTERVIEW PROCESS LIKE?

Below is a rough outline of the process you can expect:

• Starting the week of February 8th, If the team is interested in chatting, we’ll generally do a 15 - 30 minute phone screen. If you haven't heard from us before then, don't worry, we're working through our process :)
• We’ll schedule a <1-hour remote interview
• You’ll have one more hour-long interview to meet with the rest of the team
