ABOUT THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER ROLE:

PayIt is hiring several Software Engineers as a part of our ongoing go-to-market strategy. The selected engineers will work within a team and build innovative applications and services that enable our clients to meet their goals with the PayIt platform. You will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: design, development, documentation, maintenance, and customer service of various applications and services. You will build integrations into various systems and incorporate new features from our products into new client implementations. Most importantly, you will improve the team and company by being an active participant in our culture.

PREFERRED SKILLSETS:

• Bachelor's' degree in Computer Science or related experience including at least 1 year of professional experience working in a programming language (Java, Go, Elixir, JavaScript, C++, C#, etc.) and experience using applicable web frameworks.
• Self-starter with a desire to learn. Motivated, self-directed, but with the ability to take direction from others. Desires to seek and then incorporate feedback. Able to multitask and resolve issues with creativity and minimal direction.
• Strong analytical skills. Able to understand business problems.
• Experienced building Web Services, and integrations with third parties through APIs, SOAP, OAuth, etc.), knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOA/OOD/OOP), MVC and other design patterns, experience with databases and system, and experience with Agile development methodologies, especially SCRUM.
• Experienced supporting a production application, including deployments, troubleshooting, and tuning and are able to design small systems or parts of larger systems
• You have worked closely with stakeholders to respond quickly to issues and solve them in a repeatable and scalable way. You have strong oral and written communication skills and are to clearly document and communicate to team members. You enjoy communicating with management, customers, and technical staff in analyzing situations and resolving issues.
• You work collaboratively to ensure that your code is well is well-tested. You have experience in building unit tests.
• Must be proficient with SSCS, preferably Git.
• Experience developing with a MacOS or Linux environment.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript.

NICE TO HAVES:

• Experience working for a major internet company and knowledge of ecommerce sites is a huge plus
• Experience with Lucidchart, Draw.io or a similar tool, MS Word, MS Excel
• Jira, Rally or other Agile Development process tool
