Position Summary
The Payer Credentialing Project Coordinator serves as the central hub for managing provider data as it pertains to credentialing. This role is ideal f or someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is conf ident navigating large datasets, complex spreadsheets, and a steady stream of incoming communications. This is a pivotal role in maintaining the accuracy of provider information, coordinating operational tasks, and ensuring timely reporting and execution across credentialing activities.
Essential Functions
Acts as the central point of coordination for all provider data, including updating centralized provider rosters. Builds out detailed project task plans for each new provider, defining and assigning responsibilities across the credentialing team. Tracks the progress of tasks using status updates received via email, updated spreadsheets, and communication from internal/external stakeholders. Consolidates and manages data from multiple Excel workbooks to support real-time status tracking, dashboard generation, and performance reporting. Analyzes and reports on key metrics such as workload distribution among team members using consolidated worksheet data and visualization tools. Performs advanced work in Excel, Smartsheet, and other platforms to create agile, responsive project tracking and data systems. Manages a high volume of daily email communications, quickly processing, triaging, and translating updates into actionable steps or project data changes.
Education and Experience/Certification or License
Education Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Data Analytics or a related field preferred. Work experience in credentialing, provider onboarding, payer enrollment, or a similar operational role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated project management experience, ideally in healthcare or credentialing operations. Moderate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required (formulas, pivot tables, data cleaning/merging, charts, etc.). Experience designing or managing projects in Smartsheet, Microsoft Access, or Power BI strongly preferred. Familiarity with the healthcare payer landscape and provider credentialing processes is a plus. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills — must be comfortable navigating competing priorities with speed and accuracy. Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
