    Job Description

    _ About the Position_

    A successful Payroll Administrator at Dunn Lumber is expected to develop and apply a strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance requirements, and employee support to ensure accurate and timely compensation for every team member. You will be part of a collaborative corporate office team, responsible for maintaining payroll systems, auditing data, and partnering with HR, benefits, and management to resolve issues. A fully trained Payroll Administrator upholds The Legacy of Trust by ensuring employees are paid correctly, benefits and deductions are administered accurately, and sensitive information is handled with the utmost integrity

    • Administer processing of organization's payroll and collect payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records
    • Handle processing of employee status changes, and benefit enrollment administration
    • Assist with the employee onboarding processes and new hire paperwork, including direct deposit entries and benefit eligibility verification
    • Coordinate COBRA administration paperwork for former employees
    • Operate with extreme attention to detail and accuracy, frequent errors are not tolerated
    • Interact with management to solve issues related to time entries, time off or other related issues
    • Assist with the implementation of any state or federal laws impacting payroll systems.
    • Audit payroll information for accuracy
    • Reconcile payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary deductions
    • Participate in problem solving and special projects within the Payroll Department
    • Complete employment verification requests
    • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    _ Previous Experience _

    Minimum three years of payroll experience is preferred. Experience working with payroll software systems, such as UKG or other related platforms is preferred.

    Education, Certificates, or Licenses

    Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

    Technical/Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic competency with computers including the ability to enter login credential information, punch in and out for work, and quickly and accurately use a keyboard. The position requites previous experience with basic Microsoft programs including Word, Outlook, Excel and Teams (or similar). This position also requires ability to perform basic math, such as counting, fractions, addition, subtraction, and multiplication. The position will use UKG software for all processes, and training will be provided. This employee will be required to use this program successfully once training is complete.

    _ Supervisor Responsibility_

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 5 pounds. This job is performed at a sit to stand desk and has no other physical demands.

    Work Environment

    This job constantly operates a corporate office environment where noise levels are expected to remain low.
