POSITION SUMMARY
To accurately process state and federal tax related forms, as well as voluntary insurance adjustments. Assist in preparation of weekly payroll processing, including but not limited to data entry, file uploads, time data adjustments. Process and post GL for each payroll. Make manual GL entries. Prepare wage comparison reports as requested by outside departments. Post manual/manual check entries to GL and update YTD amounts. Also coordinate the sealing, sorting and shipping of all payroll checks.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Opening and processing mail, answering phone calls/e-mails from associates. Responding to inquiries and correspondences received.
Process & post GL for each payroll each week: Verify any errors to org/maj/sub combinations for GL. Make changes to the errors & post the GL. Run a gross to net tape for everything that hit GL for the payroll. This duty is also a SOX compliance duty.
Manual General Ledger (GL) entries: Key manual entries to GL (ex: dollar differences, state and local tax changes, manual/manual tape entry and any misc. adjustments). Key the GL entry for all tax deposits made. Key the GL entry for all garnishment checks that are processed.
Expense payable checks: Request checks from expense payables for tax payments that are not done on-line, PAC payment and United Way payments.
Manual/manual checks: Keep track of all manual/manual checks thru the net check system. Post all this information to GL and make any necessary YTD updates.
Reconcile various general ledger accounts: Keep track of what all is going in/out of the assigned accounts. Make sure things are flowing thru the way they should. Make sure garnishment payments are sent out the way they should be.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Computer Knowledge to include Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)

Kronos and People Soft experience preferred
Payroll processing experience preferred
Retail or Grocery environment preferred

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma
