    Job Description

    Purpose of the role

    Reporting to the Head of Payroll, the Payroll Advisor will be responsible for the range of payroll related activities in the allocated global jurisdictions where Ocorian operates.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Assist with outsourced payroll processing, ensuring compliance with U.S. regulations, while maintaining accuracy and adherence to payroll standards
    • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations and reporting deadlines
    • Resolve payroll inquiries efficiently, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established deadlines
    • Administer 401(k) plan and benefits programs, including enrolments, contributions, and compliance monitoring
    • Contribute to process improvement by continuously updating payroll workflows, procedures, and documents
    • Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure payroll reporting and compliance with labor laws, and financial accuracy
    • Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements, providing necessary information to auditors
    • Assist with payroll vendor research, evaluating service offerings, compliance capabilities, and integration potential
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills & Experience

    • 2+ years’ experience of U.S. payroll processing, preferably in multi-state payroll environments
    • Experience with international payrolls (advantageous)
    • Proficiency in payroll software such as ADP, Paychex or other relevant platforms (advantageous)
    • Highly numerate with a systematic approach to problem solving
    • High accuracy and strong attention to detail
    • Excellent written communication skills, particularly for payroll documentation and employee inquiries
    • Excellent time management and organisational skills
    • Sense of urgency, ownership mentality, and resilience, driving payroll processes to successful completion
    • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive payroll data with discretion and integrity
    • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g. PivotTables and functions like VLOOKUP; strong analytical skills for payroll data management are a plus)
