    We're looking for a part-time Payroll & Billing Specialist to join our operations team and support our growing organization with precision, care, and integrity.

    Position Summary & Responsibilities

    The Payroll & Billing Specialist will oversee all payroll and client billing operations for Cornerstone. This role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy across payroll, billing, and accounts receivable/payable, while also managing our reduced fee programs and organizational partnerships.

    Payroll

    • Process bi-monthly payroll in Gusto, including commissions, PTO, bonuses, deductions, and special adjustments. Ensures proper contributions are made to Colorado Secure Savings, CO FAMLI and other similar entities.
    • Reconcile payroll reports, approve timesheets, and manage PTO calculations and tracking.
    • Maintain payroll spreadsheets and provide regular updates to the CFO/CEO.

    Billing & Accounting

    • Process incoming payments, invoices, and reimbursements, ensuring timely deposits and accurate records.
    • Manage complex billing situations, including third-party payers, organizational partnerships, and legal agreements.
    • Tracks and processes all reimbursements of staff expenses, stipends, bonuses, gifts, etc.
    • Processes and mails checks for all bills due, communicating with the accounting firm and/or COO when needed.
    • Generate financial reports to support leadership in business planning and operations.
    • Gathers all mail (often checks and invoices) from the Lakewood, Colorado office weekly and properly processes and distributes mail accordingly. *_*This requires the role to live within 25 miles of the Lakewood, CO office, located at_** ** 3609 S.     Reduced Fee & Partnership Programs

    • Oversee reduced fee applications with a balance of compassion and organizational sustainability, often requiring nuanced judgment in complex situations.
    • Maintain up-to-date records and communicate program decisions clearly to internal teams and clients.
    • Manage billing and invoicing for organizational partnerships, including churches and corporate clients.

    Leadership & Collaboration

    • Supervise and support the Billing Assistant.
    • Attend team meetings to share updates and ensure smooth financial operations.
    • Collaborate with the COO, accountants, and leadership to improve processes and maintain accurate SOPs.

    What We're Looking For

    • Experience: Minimum 2 years in payroll, billing, or accounting; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.

    • Technical Skills: Proficiency with payroll processes and systems, QuickBooks, Excel, Google Workspace, and billing software.

    • Strengths: Highly organized, strong attention to detail, financial acumen, excellent communicator, and capable of managing multiple deadlines.

    Technology & Workspace Requirements

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must have a secure/private working location as this role requires confidentiality and privacy of personal information.
    • This position is a remote position that requires use of your own personal computer, smartphone and high-speed internet connection in order to work in all of our cloud-based software programs.
