Job Summary
The Payroll Business Partner manages their assigned clients’ end-to-end payroll process. Ensuring accurate and timely employee compensation thru the process of time collection, calculation of wages, processing deductions, and maintaining employee records.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure weekly/biweekly/semimonthly payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Enter and maintain payroll data, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, deductions, and benefits.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, taxes, and direct deposits.
- Prepare payroll-related reports for clients and internal partners
- Support audits related to payroll, benefits, and labor compliance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- 3 years of payroll or related administrative experience.
- Familiarity with wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, and deductions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proven communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Preferred Skills
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
- Knowledge of garnishments, benefits deductions, and leave tracking.
Work Environment
- Requires meeting strict payroll deadlines.
- Sitting & Keyboarding: Constant sitting for extended periods and intensive use of computers, calculators, and keyboards.
- Communication: Effective speech and hearing are required for interacting with clients, employees, staff, and management.
