We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk Assistant to join our Fiscal Team and contribute to our commitment to employee satisfaction and financial accuracy.

    Summary:
    The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing employee payroll, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent mathematical skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Process payroll for employees on a weekly basis, ensuring strict deadline and accurate payments.

    - Maintain payroll records, including employee hours, pay rates, deductions, and taxes.

    - Handle union remittance reports and prevailing wage certified payroll reporting.

    - Review and verify time sheets and attendance records for accuracy and compliance with company policies.

    - Prepare direct deposit files: transmit ACH files to meet transfer deadline; complete ACH Bank verifications authorization for transmission.

    - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.

    - Assist in the preparation of payroll-related tax documentation and filings.

    - Coordinate with HR to update employee records regarding salary changes, deductions, and benefits.

    - Support the implementation and improvement of payroll processes and systems.

    - Maintain confidentiality regarding payroll information and employee records.

    - Assist in ad-hoc financial reporting, general ledger maintenance and analysis as required.

    - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements as required by the Federal and State government, including, but not limited to, W-2, Federal and State tax returns, coordinate quarterly, annual tax filings with Fiscal Team and ensure compliance with Department of Labor employer requirements. Assemble financial data to all external agencies and corporations as required to all levels of bonding, insurance, financing and pre-qualifications.

    - Perform clerical tasks and additional duties as assigned by the Company from time to time to meet the ongoing needs of the organization and for multiple sister entities: real estate brokerage, rental property management and land development, (Estimating and Project Management).

    Qualifications and Skills:
    - Associate’s degree in Accounting.

    • Mandatory - Minimum proven 5 year experience as a Payroll Clerk.
      - Knowledge of payroll procedures and relevant legislation (e.g., FLSA, IRS guidelines).
      - Proficient in payroll software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
      - Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Must love working with numbers all day EVERY day.
      - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
      - Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
      - Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. Communicate with people at all levels of the company from business owner to field employees. Must possess the ability work in harmony, to adapt to different personalities, management styles and team composition's.
      -Must possess a valid unrestricted Driver's License to attend public bid openings, jobsites, etc.

    Hours/Schedule : Office hours = 8am to 4:30pm, 40 hours per week, possible overtime

    Work Location - office-based in person - full time

    Compensation $ 52,000 to $ 60,000
