    Payroll Coordinator – Your Job Duties

    You'll play a crucial role on our team by supporting the up-front calculations, documentation, and information gathering needed to run payroll across departments and for up to 300 employees. This includes efficiently processing wages, deductions, and benefits while always maintaining compliance with Federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

    You will:

    • Process and verify timekeeping records and electronic employee timesheets in NOVAtime, ensuring consistency between work tickets and timesheets
    • Manage and organize meal and rest break waivers
    • Support payroll processing by conducting monthly reviews and audits of the payroll runs for accuracy and compliance with labor laws, including verifying payment for missed meal or rest breaks
    • Process and file time off requests, maintaining organized employee records
    • Use NetSuite Payroll for payroll processing tasks
    • You will be learning and training to grow your career into assisting with the full payroll run.

    Payroll Coordinator \- Required Skills, Experience & Culture Fit

    You have:

    • Fluency in both written and spoken Spanish
    • Understanding and prior experience with processing in-house payroll and related payroll tasks
    • The ability to work on-site Monday through Friday
    • A customer service approach when interacting with internal clients and employees
    • Drive and desire to learn and grow your career within payroll, eager to expand your knowledge and take on new challenges
    • A proactive and helpful attitude, always eager to assist the team wherever needed
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis

    Payroll Coordinator \- Required Skills, Experience & Culture Fit

    You might have:

    • Knowledge of fringe benefits, DAS140 forms, and certified payroll reporting
    • Exposure to prevailing wage or union environment payroll
    • Experience with NetSuite or Miter Payroll system

    You'll primarily support payroll, with approximately 65% of your time dedicated to core payroll functions and 35% to payroll-related human resources (HR) activities.


    Payroll Coordinator – Benefits & Pay for You

    This is a full-time role, located in Bakersfield, CA, and will be in-office Monday through Friday. Expected hours are 8 am to 5 pm with some flexibility in start and stop time.

    Your compensation will be $28 - $29 per hour, plus overtime and bonus potential.
