Known for a stable, non-corporate culture and recognized as a top employer in the region, the company continues to grow and is investing in its team for the future.

    Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join a lean, high-visibility payroll function. This is a succession and knowledge-transfer hire: the incoming Coordinator will train alongside the current payroll lead through a full cycle of weekly payroll and year-end processing before stepping into the role as the primary payroll owner.

    Responsibilities

    • Process weekly payroll accurately and on time, including calculation of wages, overtime, and bonuses/commissions
    • Review time records, validate hours and exceptions, and follow up directly with managers as needed
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay or direct deposit information
    • Manage timekeeping systems and processes, including supporting hourly employee time clock/scan procedures
    • Handle deductions, including wage garnishments, and process PTO tracking
    • Ensure payroll activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
    • Prepare payroll reports for management and auditing purposes
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll questions across all levels of the organization, from hourly staff to executives
    • Partner with HR and finance to keep payroll data accurate and processes efficient
    • Work with the payroll system vendor to address issues or system updates

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on payroll experience
    • Working knowledge of ADP payroll systems, with relatively recent hands-on exposure
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly filtering and working with payroll report exports
    • Comfortable serving as the sole primary payroll owner and point of contact
    • Comfortable and confident interacting face-to-face with employees at all levels, including hourly staff, managers, and senior leadership
    • Experience in an environment with hourly employees, payroll exceptions, and PTO tracking
    • High school education or equivalent

    Preferred Requirements

    • Background in a manufacturing or distribution environment, given the volume and mix of employee types
    • Experience with commission-based payroll in addition to salaried and hourly
    • Direct experience with ADP Workforce Now
    • A track record of long-term stability with employers, rather than frequent job changes

    Compensation/Benefits

    • Base compensation: $30/HR-$35/HR
    • Profit sharing
    • Medical benefits with the majority of premium costs covered by the employer
    • 401(k) with company match, eligible after 90 days

    Location

Cincinnati, Ohio. This is a fully onsite position, five days per week, with a standard schedule (either 7:30 AM–4:30 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM).
