    Opportunity Overview

    We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Payroll Coordinator to support payroll operations and employee data management. This role is critical to ensuring accurate payroll processing, maintaining employee records, and supporting benefits administration.

    This position will be based on the East Coast out of our New York City office and will work independently, reporting to the Payroll and People & Culture team located in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate is a strong self-starter with excellent Excel skills, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to manage responsibilities autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

    Training for this role will take place onsite in Los Angeles for approximately two (2) weeks.

    What You Will Achieve

    Payroll Operations

    • Review and verify employee timecards for accuracy and completeness.

    • Identify and correct timecard discrepancies, including missed punches and overlapping shifts.

    • Assist with processing weekly and biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.

    • Update employee information in ADP, including pay rate changes, job or location transfers, and position updates.

    • Process employee terminations in ADP in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.

    Data Management & Documentation

    • Organize, file, and maintain payroll-related documentation, including promotion, demotion, and termination notices.

    • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure folders and documentation are properly organized.

    • Support audits and payroll reporting as needed.

    Employee Support & Collaboration

    • Respond to employee payroll and benefits-related inquiries via email and other communication channels.

    • Provide support during benefits enrollment periods and assist employees with related questions.

    • Collaborate closely with Payroll, HR, and People & Culture team members to ensure timely and accurate payroll execution.

    General Support

    • Perform administrative and ad hoc tasks to support payroll and HR operations as needed.

    What You Will Need

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

    • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including filters, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and basic formulas.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

    • Proven ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal day-to-day supervision.

    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

    • Prior experience in payroll, HR, or administrative support is a plus, but not required — training will be provided.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with ADP or similar payroll systems.

    • Mandarin Chinese language proficiency is a plus to work across our global teams.

    • Experience supporting geographically distributed teams.

    Work Location & Training

    • Primary Location: New York City, NY

    • Training: Onsite in Los Angeles for approximately 2 weeks upon hire

    Physical Requirements

    Must be able to remain in a stationary position (e.g., seated or at a desk) for extended periods while operating a computer or other office equipment. Must be able to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds
