Job Summary: The Payroll Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll, ensuring compliance, and providing leadership to the payroll team. This role involves managing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and staying updated with payroll laws and regulations, particularly within the multi-state environment of a franchise network. The ideal candidate is an experienced payroll professional with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of payroll systems, and a high level of confidentiality and credibility.

Responsibilities:
Manage and mentor a team of Payroll Processors, ensuring accuracy and compliance in payroll processing, particularly related to garnishments
Provide hands-on support in payroll operations, problem resolution, and process improvements.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
Oversee payroll audits and reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely processing
Partner with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless payroll operations
Handle escalations and complex payroll issues with professionalism and discretion
Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and credibility in handling sensitive payroll information
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in payroll Management within a payroll function
Strong knowledge of payroll systems, processes, and regulations
Experience with multi-state payroll, garnishments, and payroll-related deductions
Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under deadlines.
High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience with UKG and ADP preferred
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is a plus
