    Job Summary: The payroll & inventory specialist combines payroll operations, accounting, and serialized inventory tracking to deliver accurate information for titling and employee focused payroll. The position owns end to end payroll processing, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, and serves as the expert on payroll systems. The role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment regarding confidential information, and a commitment to employee service partnered with interactions with Titling, Sales, Accounting, and Operations.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Process bi-weekly payroll

    Track commissions, calculate & post to payroll

    Distribute Commission totals to sales staff for accuracy

    Enroll new employees in Health and dental insurance

    Track and manage vacation, sick time

    SAIF Reporting, audits, and claims

    Assist employees with HR & payroll related inquiries

    Keep up to date Federal and State Employment posters

    Track serialized inventory boat, motor, and trailer purchases and sales

    Keep track of monthly cost of sales of serialized inventory

    Monthly inventory count

    Supports audits, 401(k) compliance testing, and regulatory reporting

    Provide guidance to managers and employees on payroll, timekeeping, and company policies and procedures. Participate in payroll and timekeeping system setup and maintenance. Support troubleshooting and system fixes.

    Respond to Federal, State, and local information requests and surveys including BLS, DOL, and other regulatory agencies

    Maintain and update HR files

    Maintain and update new hire packets and various employee related company forms.

    Inventory & Accounting

    Track serialized boat, motor, trailer inventory, recording purchases, sales

    Track monthly cost of serialized sales

    End of month serialized inventory count

    Provide new and used sales to title clerk for DMV/OMB registrations

    Track intercompany transfers

    Process payments for serialized inventory through AP software

    Pay and track serialized inventory on Flooring account

    Inventory Floor checks with flooring company

    Various unit sales, and other reports as needed

    Apply for manufacturer rebates on boats

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

    5+ years of hands on payroll processing with ownership of end to end payroll cycles, including taxes, reconciliations, vendor payments, and payroll journal entries

    Experience with ADP Run a plus

    Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and local payroll tax regulations, wage-and-hour laws, and benefits compliance requirements.

    Advanced Excel skills

    High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential payroll and employee information, and data privacy

    Ability to walk, squat, and kneel for counting monthly serialized inventory
