We’re working with a fast-growing company in the transportation space that’s expanding its footprint. As the business scales, they’re bringing payroll in-house and hiring a Payroll Manager to lead and build out the function.

This is a hands-on role that will step in to take over payroll responsibilities from existing team members and eventually replace an outgoing coordinator. You’ll manage multi-state payroll processing, support compliance efforts, and help establish scalable processes in partnership with Operations, particularly around audits, termination pay, and rest/meal break requirements.

Title: Payroll Manager

Location: Hybrid in Sawtelle/West LA, CA (ideally 5 days onsite, but open to 3 days/week for the right person)

Compensation: Up to $100k in base salary + Benefits

Qualifications for Success:

• 4+ years of experience managing high-volume, multi-state payroll is required
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance, especially in California
• Proficient in Excel with a detail-oriented, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset
• Familiarity with Paycor or startup/fast-growth environments is a plus!
