    We are looking for a Payroll Processor/Manager that manages all payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation, compliance with tax laws, and strategic process improvement, leading payroll teams, and collaborating with HR/Finance for accurate financial reporting. Key duties include payroll processing for multiple company codes and multi state, tax reporting (W-2s, 941s), system management, team leadership, policy development, and handling escalated issues, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of regulations.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Set up and maintain functional payroll systems

    Streamline and document compensation procedures

    Audit payroll transactions to ensure all amounts and payment dates are accurate

    Approve one-time or permanent changes in payroll (e.g. salary increases, tax deduction, bonuses, expense reimbursements)

    Train employees who are involved in payroll on tax regulations and best practices

    Manage payroll discrepancies quickly and efficiently

    Ensure compliance with all payroll and tax laws

    Collaborate with Finance and HR to create payroll reports and forecasts

    Stay up-to-date with labor legislation and any changes in employee insurance and tax regulations

    Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll related matters

    Issuing paychecks and managing direct deposits

    Track hours worked and ensure that employees are accurately paid for their time

    Maintain employee records, ensure employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis

    Manage bi-weekly/monthly payroll, deductions, and adjustments for potentially many properties/employees.

    Ensure adherence to federal, state (like CA), and local labor laws, tax reporting, and audit requirements.

    Guide and train HR/Payroll staff.

    Manage payroll budgets, expenses, and integrate with accounting functions.

    Qualifications – Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field

    Comprehensive knowledge of payroll regulations, reporting requirements, and HR operations

    Familiarity with enterprise HRMS systems and timekeeping/scheduling applications

    Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

    Qualifications – Experience:

    6–10 years of progressively responsible experience managing HR and payroll systems, preferably in a complex, automated environment

    Experience supervising staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
