    POSITION: Payroll Specialist

    DEPARTMENT: Auditor

    WORK SCHEDULE: M-F 8:00AM-4:30PM

    JOB CATEGORY: Non-exempt

    SALARY: Up to $50,000 annually

    STATUS: Full-time

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred.
    • Two years of payroll administration experience required.

    Requirements:

    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.
    • Public service orientation and commitment to excellent and genuine customer service.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
    • Thorough knowledge of payroll tax and compliance standards.
    • Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, and other information.
    • Maintains employee records (new hires, terminations, pay changes)
    • Reviews timecards for completeness and import timekeeping (LOW Payroll interface or manual uploads).
    • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other deductions.
    • Performs accounts payable functions for providers/vendors of employee benefits and other deductions.
    • Corresponds and problem solves in a professional manner with staff, co-workers, and leadership.
    • Works with Human Resources as it relates to new hires, deduction changes, and various items.
    • Other duties as assigned.
