    Payroll and Benefits Specialist

    Bellevue, WA (Hybrid role)

    We are partnered with an employee-focused company to find a Payroll and Benefits Specialist. Our client is a renewable energy leader, dedicated to shaping a better future through large-scale battery energy storage systems.

    This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll and benefits processing while supporting human resources or accounting tasks as needed. It is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with payroll expertise and/or HR knowledge, ready to thrive in a collaborative and dynamic team environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Process bi-weekly, multi-country payroll, including salaries, benefits, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
    • Serve as the primary contact for payroll systems and vendors, addressing and resolving payroll-related issues.
    • Manage employee benefits programs, including enrollment, updates, and reconciling invoices.
    • Conduct onboarding tasks such as processing new hire documentation, managing background checks, and setting up employee files.
    • Support offboarding by processing final paychecks, updating benefits, and maintaining compliance with record-keeping standards.
    • Maintain payroll records, ensure proper tax filings, and address inquiries related to garnishments and other payroll deductions.
    • Assist with routine accounting tasks such as tracking employee reimbursements, preparing payroll journal entries, and reconciling accounts as needed.
    • Collaborate with HR and/or Accounting to ensure compliance with policies and provide ad-hoc reporting or assist with other accounting or human resources projects as required.

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience.
    • Experience with international payroll is a plus.
    • Proficiency with payroll platforms (e.g., ADP or similar systems) and strong working knowledge of payroll tax laws.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, human resources, or a related field is preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel preferred.
    • Familiarity with HR or accounting systems and processes and supporting and working closely with either or both departments.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills with a customer-focused mindset.
    • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
