    Paysign is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a specialization in the payments industry and a strong background in ISO8583 message standards. The ideal candidate will be an expert in developing and maintaining Java-based applications and systems within the financial services sector, particularly those involving payment processing and transactional data. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement robust payment solutions that meet industry standards and client expectations.

    Essential Functions

    • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications for payment processing platforms.
    • Be a subject matter expert on Payment Processing, Card Networks, and ISO 8583 standards.
    • Implement and adhere to ISO 8583 standards for card network communications and transactions.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and integrate functional requirements into our payment systems.
    • Optimize existing systems for scalability and performance, ensuring robustness and reliability of payment applications.
    • Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure the quality and functionality of software components.
    • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software to resolve issues and improve performance.
    • Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in the payments industry to enhance system capabilities.
    • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to best practices.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Java Developer, specifically in payment processing platforms and card networks.
    • Well rounded understanding of the payments ecosystem.
    • Demonstrated experience/problems solved in the Fintech space, preferably in card issuing and/or payment processing. You should understand the payments space, payments systems, and ISO 8583 messaging specifications.
    • Strong knowledge of Java and related frameworks and technologies.
    • Familiarity with database technologies such as MySQL, Postgres, NoSQL, etc.
    • Proficiency in software development best practices, including Agile methodologies.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Experience with cloud technologies and services is a plus.
