    Welcome to Pazona MD, Nashville's leading urology clinic dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis, Monday to Friday.

    As a member of the Pazona MD team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside Dr. Joseph Pazona, a seasoned urologist with over a decade of experience. Our clinic offers a range of cutting-edge services including no-needle, no-scalpel vasectomy procedures, overactive bladder treatments, male and female hormone optimization, erectile dysfunction treatment, and more, all aimed at ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction.

    Job Responsibilities to Include but not limited to:

    • Assist urologists in patient care and procedures
    • Take patient medical histories and vital signs
    • Prepare examination rooms for patient visits
    • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records
    • Provide patient education on urological conditions and treatments
    • Assist with in-office procedures and treatments
    • Handle patient inquiries and provide support as needed
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment
    • Adhere to clinic protocols and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care
    • Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care to patients
    • Update and maintain accurate patient records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
    • Provide prompt responses to patient inquiries
    • Enter relevant data into medical systems and update patient information as required.
    • Monitor patient progress and assist in tracking and documenting treatment plans.
    • Support physicians and other healthcare professionals, collaborating effectively with the entire team.
    • Schedule appointments between patients and medical staff.
    • Assist in medical billing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to billing guidelines.
    • Manage patient follow-up care, coordinating with physicians and scheduling necessary appointments.
    • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient information at all times.
    • Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Previous experience as a medical assistant preferred.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with healthcare practices.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
    • Medical software and technology proficiency, including virtual communication tools and electronic health record systems preferred.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
    • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision while maintaining high productivity.
    • Good customer service mentality, demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism in patient interactions.
    • Possession of a certification : CMA, CNA, LPN, RNs welcome!

    Specific Competencies:

    • Put patients in the exam room for the physicians and prepare patients for the indicated exam.
    • Perform chemical and microscopic urinalysis. Prepare C & S to be sent to the lab.
    • Review charts the day prior to patient visit to ensure that all test results and needed information for patient visit is available.
    • Update Patient histories including past medical history, past social history, past surgical history, medication history and allergies.
    • Draw blood and prepare specimens to be sent to outside reference labs. Record lab results in EMR chart.
    • Perform IM and subcutaneous injections.
    • Perform and assist with office procedures as directed by physicians including bladder scan, flow rate, bladder catheterization and bladder instillations.
    • Provide basic patient education regarding clean intermittent catheterization and other patient teaching per protocols.
    • Assist with patient phone calls tasked to clinical assistants.
    • Perform patient tasks as ordered by physician including scheduling diagnostic tests, obtaining outside records and scheduling appointments.
    • Assist with appointment scheduling for emergency and work-in patients.
    • Make sure exam rooms are clean, adequately stocked and ready for clinic visits.
    • Assist with prior authorizations and pre-certifications for diagnostic testing and medications.
    • Assist with miscellaneous tasks assigned by Clinic supervisor, Physician or Administrator.
