    Job Description

    Peabody Resident Services seeks a Program Coordinator to work as part of the on-site Management team at an apartment community in Boston. The ideal candidate coordinates quality of life programs for the community, develops and provides wellness, educational and other enrichment programming to residents to promote a harmonious and active quality of life.

    Work schedule may vary and/or include some after-business hours to coincide with times of resident programs, i.e., evening dinner/entertainment events, weekend holiday celebrations, etc. as determined appropriate to meet the needs of the resident populations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Planning, scheduling, and implementing fun, engaging, and innovative programs for the residents that enhance their quality of life including programming for all age groups that reside at the property.

    • Preparing for programs in an appropriate manner including timely setup and breakdown for events, preparing materials, effective staging, purchasing of supplies/food required for the event, and coordination with other staff as necessary. Manages, documents and reconciles expenditures regarding resident programs, i.e. refreshments, supplies, etc. in an accurate, professional and timely manner where check requests and/or petty cash provided.

    • Working with Resident Associations, Tenant Task Forces, and Ownership Boards, where applicable, to foster community-building. Attends regularly scheduled meetings and provides reports and/or presentations, as appropriate.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    BA in Social Work or Event Planning is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in program delivery with elders, families, and/or persons with disabilities, and proven ability to provide a robust calendar of innovative activities for all ages. Demonstrated working knowledge of Boston area supportive services and other community resources. Strong communication, organization, writing and computer skills
