    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Responsible for meeting and exceeding the expectations of all guests. The Banquet Houseman is primarily responsible for assisting in serving, setting-up, and clean-up of all banquet functions. This is a fast paced position that will involve continuous guest interaction and a constant change in venue setup. Ability to maintain a high level of enthusiasm, cooperation, and flexibility is required.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Ability to follow directions from Banquet Event Orders (BEO)

    On a continuous basis, keep service corridors, pre-function space and storage areas clean, organized and unobstructed.

    Properly clean and set meeting rooms and banquet functions per specifications on BEO or as given by banquet management. This includes, but is not limited to, straightening chairs, clearing the dirty dishes and glassware from the tables, straightening the chairs, changing soiled table linen, vacuuming the floor, emptying trash and restocking materials such as pads and pens.

    Become thoroughly familiar with the location of all function rooms and related areas and the various types of workable setups to include:

    School room style

    Theatre style

    Conference style

    U-shape

    Hollow square

    Hollow rectangle

    Banquet style

    T-shape

    E-shape

    Correctly and efficiently set-up and breakdown all department functions including:

    Meetings

    Breakfasts, Luncheons and Dinners

    Receptions

    Banquets

    Dances

    Exhibits

    Participates as a team member with Servers, Bartenders, Cooks, Banquet Captains, Supervisors and any pertinent company employees in producing a smoothly and efficiently run operation that meets the highest standards of guest service.

    Proper care, movement, storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, dance floor, and lecterns, is required.

    Proper control and storage of meeting room supplies such as linen, pads, pens/pencils and candy, etc. are required.

    Reports needed repairs of unsafe conditions to Banquet Captain and Banquet Manager.

    Knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.

    Check all electrical connections for proper working order and tape down all exposed cords for equipment use.

    Reporting of missing articles, damage or mechanical problems in the clubhouse/terrace area and equipment.

    Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and sanitary.

    Assists in maintaining overall standards of health, safety, and sanitation throughout the facility.

    Assist in other duties and projects as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Must be able to work flexible varying shifts of mornings or evenings along with weekends and holidays.

    High School Diploma or GED preferred.

    Excellent customer service skills, energetic, enthusiastic and motivational.

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

    Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
