    We are currently hiring second shift Machine Operators for a facility in Fletcher, NC. This position uses a variety of common machine tools and gages, calipers, etc. Hours of Work:  2nd Shift Machine Operator will work 3:15PM to 11:30PM. PHYSICAL DEMANDS  • Manual dexterity and mechanically inclined • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms • Required to stand, walk, sit and occasionally to stoop, kneel or crouch • Ability to lift heavy tooling (50 – 100 lbs. with assistance) • Visual abilities required may include close vision and depth perception WORK ENVIRONMENT • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts, works in an unconditioned air environment and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions • Work may involve non-toxic and/or toxic fumes, chemicals, airborne particles, vibrations and heat • Noise level in the work environment may frequently be loud (hearing protection required)  Responsibilities: • Selects, installs and aligns dies, cutting tools, guides and stops to setup machine • Sets controls to synchronize machine actions for various operations on work piece in specified sequence • Positions coils of steel wire on payoff roller and feeds it through straightening rolls into feed mechanism • Adjusts settings of dies on controls as required to produce product within specified tolerances and meeting quality standards • Starts machine to begin production and observes machine operations for evidence of malfunction and product defects • Maintains machinery, including oiling and cleaning on a regular basis • Drains and cleans oil trays, dumps scrap and maintains a clean and safe work area • Ensures all quality and safety documentation is completed • Uses scales, micrometers, dial indicators and fixed gages to check parts produced/work • Work with engineering and/or maintenance to resolve specific machine, tooling and setup problems that may arise Qualifications: • Ability to read blueprints • Ability to follow quality plans and work instructions • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and setup procedures per Quality Systems • High School Diploma or GED • Ability to write simple correspondence • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to perform mathematical functions using whole numbers, decimals and metric system • REASONING Ability to define problems, make appropriate adjustments and recommend improvements Compensation: $12.45 per hour to start
