We have partnered with the STATE OF TEXAS to recruit for a SMQT SURVEYOR in Texas.
THE POSITION: As a SMQT SURVEYOR, you will work with a state agency to provide long-term care surveyor services in regions across the State of Texas. Surveyors inspect facilities to ensure they are following all applicable laws and treating its residents with the proper care.
REQUIREMENTS:
Individual Must;
- Have a CURRENT LICENSE IN GOOD STANDING to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN), Social Worker, Registered Dietician, or a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas.
- Must be experienced with providing guidance, policy clarifications, and information to others, writing detailed reports, and evaluating reported complaints/incidents.
- Own reliable transportation.
- HAVE PRIOR STATE SERVICE AS A QUALIFIED GERIATRIC (SMQT).
- Able to prepare survey reports in accordance with applicable procedures and protocols and carry a laptop and reference materials and forms (weighing up to 30 pounds) to and from work sites;
- Have experience with technical or report writing; preparation and presentation of technical presentations; working with computer software programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Aspen).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Survey tasks and protocols processing of survey documents, onsite inspections and/or survey of long-term care providers – such as Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Day Activity Health Service, Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID), or Home Health and Hospice providers - to determine compliance with all state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
- Review and discuss survey findings with care provider administrators, officials and/or managers, including: explaining and clarifying areas of non-compliance, problems and discrepancies; participating in exit meetings and agencies staff meetings; reviewing plans of correction for deficiencies, conducting complaint and incident investigations.
- Receive training in and assist in gathering evidence for cases that may require legal action; provide testimony before judicial bodies when necessary and as directed. As assigned, analyze data collected during the survey process and prepare reports. As assigned, attend in-service training and training programs. As assigned, serve as a member of a disaster recovery/business resumption team, incident response team, or similar public health response team which may include the conduct of operations on a 24/7 basis at remote locations throughout the region.
- Notify the supervisor of any problems that may jeopardize meeting time frames.
PROJECT TERM: Start ASAP – Long term assignment
COMPENSATION: $42/hour (W2)
WORK LOCATION: State of Texas
TRAVEL EXPENSES: Submitted to and paid by Peak Performers weekly (No Per Diem)
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8-5 (with possibility of additional hours, as needed)
