  • Responsibilities

    This position is located in Rock Hill, SC it may require that you work in various areas in the plant. We are seeking individuals who have experience in chemical handling and have worked as a Chemical Operator, processing, batch operations, or drumming but can also perform the regular duties associated with being a chemical operator such as; to operate and maintain processing equipment to achieve area objectives according to operating guidelines using SOP’s, process monitoring instrumentation, supervisory input and continuous improvement methodologies, collect samples for laboratory analysis to ensure the process is achieving desired results, troubleshooting issues with production equipment and processes, use mobile equipment in a safe manner to accomplish area requirements, focus on housekeeping in order to maintain a safe clean work environment, complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    You must be dependable, put safety first and have basic math skills, basic computer skills, have a clear understanding of the chemical processes, ability to climb ladders and stairs multiple times per shift. This position is 2nd and 3rd 8 hour shift with some over time 

    2nd 2:45pm - 11:pm Mon.- Fri.    3rd shift 10:pm to 8am Mon,-Thur.

    YOU MUST be able to work outdoors some in ALL types of weather.

      Responsibilities

    • Work safe
    • Weigh out quantities of liquid and solid chemicals
    • Add chemicals to reactor, mix tanks, or equipment
    • Monitors reactions, samples for the lab, and adjust conditions based on test results
    • Transfers chemicals between vessels adjust valve positions, uses pumps and chemical hoses
    • Operates centrifuges ,filters and other separation devices
    • Grind product and pack for sale
    • Recovers solvents by distillation
    • Trains new operators
    • Completes operating records accurately
    • Maintains inventory of in-process, etc.
    • Completes all other task as assigned by management

    Qualifications

    • You must have worked at least one consecutive year as a chemical operator
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Reasoning ability
    • Physical demands - this position requires substantial physical activity such as standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting heavy totes, respirators must be worn at times, which means that you will not be able to wear a beard only a close cut go-tee
