    Job Description

    Lead Preschool Teacher Infant, Toddler, Preschool Teachers Peapod is currently hiring for all age groups.

    PEAPOD BRENTWOOD LLC (NATURE PRESCHOOL)licensed, accredited, serves three classrooms ages birth to six.

    We are open Monday through Friday 7am 6pm and 12 months per year excluding major holidays. We do not close for spring break, Christmas break other than Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, or summer. Specific holiday closings can be found in the current year employee handbook.

    Pay scale: Aides start at $10.30 per hour and up depending on experience and education. Leads:$12-15 and up per hour depending on experience and education.

    We offer project TEACH scholarships for teachers who are interested in pursuing early childhood education credits or completing their associates or bachelors degree in early childhood. We also offer paid training and staff are welcome to enjoy a meal with their children each day free of charge as well.

    Full time employees work 30-40 hours per week during the hours of highest attendance in their class. Part time employees have a flexible schedule but generally work 20-30 hours per week. Floats work between the hours of 10-2, closers work from 2 or 3pm .

    Leads must have a minimum of 60 hours college credit with 9 hours emphasis in early childhood education, Aides must have a minimum of three hours in early childhood education. Employees must be 18 years of age and be legally able to work in the United States.

    ALL EMPLOYEES are required to have experience working with the age group they are applying for and provide references both professionally and personally related to employment (specific to childcare). ALL EMPLOYEES must be able to pass a background screening (paid by employer), pre-employment drug screening (paid by employer), proof of negative TB screening and medical examination report (paid by applicant). ALL EMPLOYEES must obtain CPR/First aid certification, Safe Sleep, Health and Safety Training, Supervision Training, and other training for a minimum total of 18 hours of professional development annually. Cost associated with annual trainings are paid by employer pending the employee remains through the duration of their employment agreement in good standing with Peapod.

    Peapod utilizes Project Construct as our curriculum and the Desired Results Developmental Profile for our assessment. Specific training for the use of these instruments is available on the Missouri Workshop calendar. Mini lessons be outlined in your classrooms and through staff meetings. We utilize Conscious Discipline in all of our classrooms and there will be many opportunities for you to advance your training and understanding of this method throughout the year.

    OUTDOOR TIME: As a nature based preschool outdoor time is a key element in our daily routines. We expect actively engaged teachers who are ready to share their enthusiasm for learning, teaching, and outdoor experiences in nature with their children.

    PROFESSIONALISM: We expect all employees to arrive on time or early, work their scheduled shifts, provide two weeks notice in the event that you are terminating employment, and to acquire a substitute through our network in the event that you need time off. Peapod depends on the people we hire to meet classroom ratios and our families depend on us so that they can work. We expect the best for the children in the classrooms: reliable, responsible, compassionate educators and caregivers who are applying for a position in childcare because they are committed to the families, children and profession.

    Salary: $10.30 to $16.00 /hour

    COVID-19 considerations: Cleaning and sanitation are a priority in childcare in a normal year, and it is especially important during the pandemic. Applicants will spend a good deal of time daily using checklists to ensure classrooms are kept sanitary and materials are safe.
