    HR Assistant - PT (25 hrs/wk) Pearson Candy Company 5 reviews - Saint Paul, MN $17 - $20 an hour - Part-time *25 hours per week, 5 days per week, daily hours flexible to core business hours, but must be able to work M-F RECRUITMENT/ NEW HIRE PROCESS: * Participating in recruitment efforts for exempt, non-exempt, union postings * Posting job ads and organizing resumes and job applications * Conducting phone screens, scheduling job interviews and assisting in interview process * Ensuring background and reference checks are completed * Preparing offer letters

    • Preparing and collecting new hire paperwork, preparing new employee files * Orientation, coordinating the setup of a designated log-in, workstation, email address, etc. PAYROLL & BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION: * Providing customer service and answering questions to organization employees * Compiling ADP reports and spreadsheets and preparing spreadsheets RECORD MAINTENANCE: * Maintaining current HR files and databases, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions * Maintaining records related to Union grievances * Performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained * Creating and distributing documents * Processing incoming mail To effectively perform the duties of the Human Resources Assistant, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a number of competencies that are essential to the position, which include: * Must be a problem solver, including being able to identify issues and resolve programs in a timely manner * Must possess strong interpersonal skills * Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with employees, members of the HR management team, and in group presentations and meetings * Must be able to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information * Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently * Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality * Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Human Resources and Recruiting Experience, Reporting Skills, Maintaining Employee Files, Dependability, Organization, Scheduling, Confidentiality, Independence, Orienting Employees, Written and Verbal Communication, Teamwork, Microsoft Office Skills, Event Coordination Required Qualifications/Education: EDUCATION: Associates Degree in a related business field or a minimum of 2-3 years specifically in an HR Assistant or similar role with demonstrated experience.
