Position Summary
PCCST is seeking a skilled Pediatric Echocardiography Technician to perform diagnostic transthoracic echocardiograms on patients ranging from newborns through young adults. This role is central to the practice's diagnostic capability and works in close partnership with pediatric cardiologists to deliver accurate, high-quality imaging in a compassionate, child-friendly environment. PCCST is looking for a technologist who brings both clinical steadiness and staying power: someone who thrives in a consistent, long-term role within a close-knit practice rather than frequent transitions between settings.

Creates accurate preliminary reports, performs necessary measurements, and promptly alerts physicians to critical findings Demonstrates proficiency and competency in all procedures per pediatric sonographer position guidelines, and discusses findings directly with the pediatric cardiologist
Effectively communicates and explains procedures to patients and families without discussing clinical findings, validating their understanding and easing anxiety, particularly for infants and children
Assists cardiologists with procedures, adhering to scope of practice, aseptic technique, and procedural guidelines Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment, performing basic troubleshooting, cleaning, and preventative maintenance, and promptly reporting malfunctions for repair
Uses Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and PACS proficiently for modality-specific functions and department workflow
Manages patient flow, prioritizing STAT, urgent, and high-priority cases
Maintains flexibility in scheduling, including shifts and locations
Ensures quality, efficiency, and safety in all patient procedures, and follows department protocols, raising concerns about non-compliance or safety issues
Maintains all patient reports in accordance with practice standards, including pulling previous reports/images, presenting images to the correct reading physician, and notifying reading physicians of requests
Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or ARDMS certification, or actively pursuing certification with an expected completion date
Formal training in echocardiography (accredited sonography program or equivalent clinical training)
