    Position Overview: The Referral Specialist plays a key role in the intake process, acting as the first point of contact for new families and coordinating all incoming referrals. This position ensures that the referral and intake process run smoothly and efficiently—helping children begin their therapy journey without delay.

    Responsibilities:

    Receive and process referrals from physicians, schools, and families via fax, phone, email, and online platforms

    Verify insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations when necessary

    Communicate with families to gather necessary intake paperwork and medical records

    Schedule initial evaluations in coordination with therapists’ availability

    Maintain accurate records and referral logs in EMR systems

    Build strong relationships with referring providers and internal therapy teams

    Ensure all required documentation is collected and compliant with clinic and insurance standards

    Provide exceptional customer service to families navigating the healthcare systems

    Track performance metrics to ensure ongoing progress toward goals

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred)

    Prior experience in a healthcare, pediatric, or therapy office setting highly preferred

    Knowledge of insurance verification and authorization processes

    Strong communication and organizational skills

    Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite

    Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
