    About My Recess Therapy

We're more than a pediatric therapy clinic — we're a community of therapists who love helping kids, supporting families, and growing together. For over 13 years, we've provided playful, relationship-centered occupational, speech, and feeding therapy to families across the Tri-Cities and Fox Valley. Our mission is simple: support kids and families on a foundation of FUN — through strong, supported therapists.

    Why You'll Love My Recess

    • A team that has your back — hands-on clinical mentorship and case consultation built in. • Grow your career your way — sensory integration, feeding/oral motor, infants, reflex integration, DIR, early intervention, parent coaching, groups, or clinical leadership. We'll support your growth wherever your passions lead. • Make a meaningful impact — lasting relationships with children, families, and your community.

    Job Summary

We're looking for a warm, skilled, curious Pediatric OT to join our team part-time at our Elgin, IL location. Ideal schedule is 2–3 afternoons per week, 3:00–7:00 PM, however, daytime hours are available. This is a generalist pediatric OT role with a strong emphasis on emotional and sensory regulation. You will work with infants, toddlers, and school-age children and their families to evaluate, plan, and deliver play-based intervention that supports sensory processing, self-regulation, and motor development.

You'll collaborate closely with families, our in-house speech and feeding therapists, and outside professionals including pediatricians, early intervention providers, and school teams. Opportunity to work with early intervention clients.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct evaluations of sensory processing, self-regulation, motor skills, and daily living. • Develop and implement individualized, play-based treatment plans that follow the child's lead. • Partner with parents and caregivers — coaching, modeling strategies, and building practical home programs. • Collaborate with in-house therapists and outside professionals to coordinate care. • Complete documentation timely and accurately. • Maintain a consistent caseload and schedule; contribute to a collaborative team culture.

    Required Qualifications

    • Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy; active Illinois OT license. • 2+ years pediatric experience preferred; new grads with strong pediatric fieldwork considered. • Working knowledge of sensory processing and self-regulation frameworks. • Strong communication skills; able to build trust with children, parents, and referring professionals.

    Preferred Skills

    • Advanced training in oral motor/feeding, infant motor development and oral adhesions, reflex integration, DIR/Floortime, or DMI — specialty bonus eligible. • Illinois EI credential or willingness to obtain. • Comfortable getting messy, being outside, and playing hard

    Benefits & Compensation

    • $50–$64/hour part-time or $72,000–$92,000/year full-time, commensurate with experience. • $1,500 part-time / $2,500 full-time specialty bonus for advanced training in the specialties above (half at 90 days, half at 6 months). • 401(k), paid time off, short-term disability (including maternity coverage), health insurance for qualifying schedules. • Continuing education stipend, mentorship, and professional development support.
