Pediatric Physical Therapist (Part-Time)

Location: SEAL School, Elgin, IL Schedule: <20 hours per week

My Recess Therapy is a child-centered, collaborative clinic specializing in occupational, speech, and physical therapy services across school and community settings. We are excited to partner with SEAL School in Elgin, IL, to provide supportive physical therapy services that help students access learning and daily school life.

Position Overview

We are seeking a pediatric Physical Therapist (PT) to join our team for a part-time role (<20 hours per week) within SEAL School. The PT will provide direct treatment, consultation, and collaboration with teachers and staff to support students with a variety of physical, sensory, and mobility needs. "Staff prioritizes PT and is supportive throughout group and individual sessions for success of therapist" = Ann PT

Responsibilities

Provide school-based physical therapy evaluations and treatment in alignment with IEP/504 goals.

Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other school staff to create supportive learning environments.

Support students in areas such as gross motor skills, balance, coordination, strength, endurance, and mobility.

Recommend adaptive equipment, classroom modifications, or positioning strategies as needed.

Document treatment sessions, progress, and goal achievement in accordance with school and insurance requirements.

Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and educational staff to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Illinois (required).

Pediatric and/or school-based experience preferred.

Strong support, collaboration, and problem-solving skills amongst school staff.

Ability to work flexibly and set hours within a school schedule.
