  • Responsibilities

    PTS Inc., is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide education-based services for local school districts in Northampton County, PA: 

    • Full-time; hours fall within a normal school day and will vary depending on primary and secondary caseloads

    • Various grade levels 

    • Opportunities throughout the school year and ESY 

    • Ability to provide instruction based on evolving school service models (i.e., in-person, virtual, hybrid)

    Responsibilities: 

    • Provide specialized evidence-based instruction for students with varying levels of need per IEP goals and objectives 

    • Develop, revise, and manage student IEPs and Special Education documentation 

    • Complete progress monitoring and on-going student assessment, making adjustments to teaching strategies as appropriate and based on current research/evidence 

    • Participate in formal evaluation and re-evaluation of students 

    • Communicate regularly with IEP teams, including parent/guardians and applicable school staff 

    • Understand special education legislation, regulations, and procedures 

    • Complete paperwork and documentation as required by state guidelines 

    • Complete other duties as deemed appropriate by the district as applicable to the position and setting 

    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree required 

    • PA Special Education certification required 

    • Child Abuse, State, and Federal Clearances 

    • At least one year of teaching experience preferred but will consider a strong new graduate 

    • Strong verbal and written communication and motivational skills 

    • Ability to effectively communicate with, instruct, and work with students, staff and parents
