Responsibilities
- Provide pediatric primary care, including well-child exams, immunizations, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
- Conduct physical exams and obtain detailed patient histories
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs, imaging, and EKGs
- Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans
- Educate parents and guardians on developmental milestones, nutrition, and health maintenance
- Accurately document care in the EHR (Athena); manage orders, charts, and workflows efficiently
- Participate in on-call coverage to ensure 24-hour patient care availability
- Provide consultation to other providers and specialists when necessary
- Mentor and support Advanced Practice Providers and student clinicians
- Engage in quality improvement, peer review, and compliance with NCQA PCMH standards
- Serve on relevant clinical committees and assist in overall care coordination
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an approved pediatric residency program
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatrics
- Current license to practice medicine in the State of Florida
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric experience preferred
- Proficient in Office 365 (Outlook, Word) and EHR systems
- Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish/English)
- Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and patient rapport
- Committed to providing compassionate, developmentally appropriate care for children and families
