Peer Recovery Specialist / House Manager
Location: Maryland Pay: $18–$20 per hour Job Type: Full-Time
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Recovery Specialist / House Manager to support residents in our men’s and women’s recovery housing programs. This role combines peer recovery support with residential management responsibilities to maintain a safe, structured, and recovery-focused environment.
This position is ideal for an individual with lived experience in recovery who is passionate about supporting others on their recovery journey while ensuring accountability and compliance within recovery housing.
Key Responsibilities
Peer Recovery Support
Provide peer-based recovery support using lived experience
Encourage engagement in treatment services, recovery meetings, and healthy daily routines
Assist residents with recovery planning, goal setting, and connection to community resources
Model recovery-oriented behavior and maintain appropriate peer boundaries
House Management
Oversee daily operations of men’s and women’s recovery homes
Enforce house rules, curfews, and program policies consistently
Conduct resident orientations and monitor compliance with program expectations
Address behavioral issues, conflict resolution, and crisis situations professionally
Maintain a safe, clean, drug-free, and recovery-oriented living environment
Conduct regular house meetings
Documentation & Coordination
Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and resident logs
Communicate with clinical staff, case managers, and program leadership
Assist with resident intake, discharge, and transition planning
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of sustained recovery from substance use
Maryland Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) required or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe
Experience in substance use treatment, recovery housing, or behavioral health preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to maintain professional boundaries while offering peer support
CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
Maryland Compliance Requirements
Must pass criminal background check
Must pass drug screening
Must comply with all Maryland Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) and recovery housing standards
Must adhere to confidentiality and ethical standards
