This position allows for primarily remote work for individuals located in the state of Indiana. Occasional in-state travel required.
Position Summary: Peer Services Specialist The Peer Services Specialist (PSS) delivers peer to peer support, resources, training, and community connections to the families and caregivers we serve. PSS team members share information with families allowing them to understand systems and services and make informed decisions about their child’s care. They document interactions in INF2F’s CRM, support the development and maintenance of organizational resources, represent INF2F at events and trainings, contribute to special projects, and assist with electronic communications. This position reports to the Peer Services Supervisor.
Peer-to-Peer and Professional Support
Provide peer support to families by evaluating areas of need and identifying strategies to meet those needs.
Share situationally appropriate information and resources with families and professionals; follow-up with families to confirm outcomes and reassess needs when applicable.
Encourage families and caregivers to advocate for the needs of their child and/or family by sharing lived experiences and modeling how to identify resources.
Represent INF2F by assisting in the creation and upkeep of INF2F - branded resources, social media content, attending community engagement events, and serving on committees and workgroups as assigned.
Document contacts and campaign activities in the Salesforce data base according to INF2F policies, best- practices and quality standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Personal knowledge and experience with a child or youth with diverse health or mental health needs is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of health care financing, state and private health systems, government programs for people with disabilities, and mental health services in Indiana.
Expertise locating and screening for verified data and information.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, analyze and act upon information.
Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Flexible and self-directed problem solver who takes initiative and sets priorities to see tasks completed.
Ability to work with diverse individuals, including those traditionally underserved.
Bilingual a plus.
Computer and Web-based Skills and Experience
Microsoft Office and Teams proficiency.
Database / CRM, Salesforce preferred.
Proven mastery of social media platforms / analytics.
Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex and other remote meeting platforms.
Education
High School diploma or high school equivalency required; bachelor's degree preferred.
Location and Position Requirements
Must have access to stable Wi-Fi with sufficient bandwidth to support video conferencing, cloud-based tools, and other online work-related activities.
The Peer Services Specialist can expect light to medium physical exertion and the ability to lift <30 pounds and walk medium to long distances.
