    Job Description

    PendoTECH, a Strategic Business Unit within METTLER TOLEDO's Process Analytics Division, is a leading supplier to the bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. PendoTECH delivers a line of single-use sensors, control systems and software for measuring, monitoring and data collection in bioprocess applications. METTLER-TOLEDO Process Analytics (MTPRO-US http://www.mt.com/pro) is a leading supplier to end-users and system integrators for liquid analytical measurement solutions to control production processes.

    This position will help us meet the fast growing demand of the biopharmaceutical market, by directly serving our end-users in the western United States. You will be responsible for developing and supporting the single-use sensor and monitor business of the PendoTECH and METTLER TOLEDO Ingold brands, as well as PendoTECH process control and data acquisition systems for process development. This will include account development with new customers, lead and opportunity nurturing, and expanding business with existing customers. This position will also assist with major OEM sites in the territory, in support of the key account manager.

    The ideal candidate will have a high degree of knowledge of the Bioprocessing segment and use that knowledge to establish strong business relationships between PendoTECH and key end-users and decision makers within the segment.

    This position reports to the Head of Sales and works closely with key account management, product management, back-office support, and regional sales management. Expected travel in territory up to 50% (COVID permitting), with periodic travel to the east coast.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with end-user accounts
    • Handle technical inquiries and issue quotes, and make optimal recommendations for customers
    • Form relationships with key decision makers, winning influence in the account and collecting market and application information to support product and R&D teams
    • Generate opportunities for sales of process control systems targeted for Biopharmaceutical process development, and support technical application experts in closing
    • Support key OEM account sites in territory, in cooperation with Global OEM Key Account Manager
    • Support trade shows by assisting with set-up and manning of company booths, talking to potential new and existing customers
    • Give technical presentations and demos to existing customers and potential new customers
    • Leverage Salesforce.com to enter customer contacts and manage contacts and accounts
    • Other duties may be assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • An understanding of bioprocess field- both upstream and downstream.
    • Able to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
    • Good communication skills and be able to work with diverse customers.
    • Good negotiation skills and be able to close deals.
    • Able to use business sense to prioritize and stay aligned with core competencies to enable pursuit of optimal opportunities.
    • Highly skilled with PCs and with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • Needs to be analytical, able to process data and be able to turn that into actionable plans.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
    • Must have upstream and downstream biopharmaceutical applications and bioprocessing work experience
    • 5+ years of sales experience preferred
