HOME DELIVERED MEALS COORDINATOR Peninsula Agency on Aging (PAA) is currently seeking an individual to serve as a Home Delivered Meals Coordinator to coordinate the delivery of meals to seniors through the use of volunteers. Introduction Peninsula Agency on Aging has been providing services that have enabled seniors to live independently since 1974. Our mission is to support the independence and quality of life of Peninsula residents, primarily 60 years and over, by advocating, arranging, or providing vital human services. Key Responsibilities As a Home Delivered Meals Coordinator, you will play a vital role in recruitment, training, orientation, and instruction of volunteer workers, prepare, maintain, and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports as requested for home delivered meals, checks roster of participants of home delivered meals daily and keep regular contact with participants, provides home delivered meal service to participants by coordination the daily meal tasks, ensures daily meal counts are tabulated and provided to PAA staff, enforces health, safety, food handling regulations, and DARS/PAA policies, facilitates participant’s donations and contributions, and maintain client lists, volunteer lists, and HDM routes. Essential Skills and Experience We are looking for applicants with any combination of education and experience, possess a general knowledge of meal service in a safe and sanitary manner; knowledge of nutritional needs of older persons; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to use computers; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; skill in coordinating groups of volunteers to achieve departmental goals; ability to relate well with senior citizens and the general public, reliable transportation and a Virginia valid driver’s license required.
