Student Ministry Associate
(Middle School and High School Associate)
Regular Part-time (25 hours per week)
Peninsula Covenant Church (PCC) makes a difference in the lives of people in Redwood City, the San Francisco Bay Area, and internationally. We are comprised of seven ministries: Worship, Adult, Family, Missions (local and international), School-Aged Child Care, Preschool, and Community Center. We employ over 180 individuals.

PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE
The primary role is to work with the Student Ministry team meeting the objectives to shepard 5th - 12th grade students to find and follow Jesus.
PRINCIPLE WORKING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to the Family Ministry Director/Pastor and in collaboration with the Student Ministry Director Team Lead and Family Ministry team. The position has interaction with Middle School and High School students, along with PCC staff, parents, volunteers, schools and the broader community.

Assist in championing of the vision and values of Student Ministry throughout church.
Has a burning desire to share the Gospel and see students take one step closer to Jesus.
Understands that the Bay Area is a mission field. Less than 3% of the Peninsula is aware of a Christian worldview.
Ability to lead small groups.
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In collaboration with the Student Ministry Director/Pastor Team Lead, with oversight by the Family Ministry Director/Pastor, assist in developing the missional, spiritual and programmatic direction for PCC Student Ministries.
Assist in Pastoring the middle and high school student community of PCC and Redwood City surrounding areas.
Providing support to the following:
Individuals
Large groups
Events
Retreats
Mission trips
Provide leadership to small groups.
Partner in the strategy and implementation to move volunteers towards ownership of ministry through development of healthy and effective leaders.
Assist by investing in the lives of students creating healthy discipleship pathways.
Assist in resourcing and equiping parents as primary disciplers supporting Family Ministry staff
Assist to ensure safety of all persons through diligence and implementation of all policies, procedures and rules.
Lead/Co-Lead Girls’ Small Groups, i.e. chaperone girls at off site camps,
Assist in managing Students Ministry Social Media
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
A faithful follower of Jesus.
Bachelor’s degree or greater preferred (current college enrollment is acceptable).
Minimum one years related experience preferred.
Ability to lead worship is preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to interact and engage with school aged youth
Must be able to lift, transport and set up equipment up to 30 pounds
Extensive walking on 14 acres campus required
Must have a clean, current DMV record
DOJ background clearance required
Must adhere to and model PCC’s Safe Church policies
WORKWEEK
This job is Part-time with an average of 25 hours per week.
This position will be expected to work on Sundays and some evenings.
