POSITION OVERVIEW
Over the course of 10- to 12-week internship, you will have the opportunity to support the marketing communications and sales support teams at Penn Mutual’s broker-dealer subsidiary, Hornor, Townsend & Kent (HTK). You will gain broad exposure to a comprehensive marketing communications program within financial services and an understanding of HTK’s investment platform. Through hands-on experience in a highly collaborative culture, you will support the HTK teams in their objective to engage with our independent financial professionals, create awareness around HTK’s investment solutions and help advance the HTK story.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with writing, proofreading and deploying email communications
- Creates and posts social media content
- Helps prepare for webinars and virtual events, and provides production support during events
- Supports HTK relationships with strategic product sponsors/investment partners
- Researches and supports public relations opportunities for the company, including updating online listings, and stays current on industry trends and news
- Reviews and updates product listings and materials
- Assists with firm processes to develop marketing and training resources, including preparing web requests and submissions for supervision advertising review
- Provides other ad hoc communications, sales support and administrative tasks, and completes any regulatory training as applicable
- Complies with all company and site policies and procedures
- Remains current in profession and industry trends
- Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent proofreading abilities
- Good eye for graphic design; familiarity with Canva a plus
- Strong competency using Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Competent using Microsoft Excel
- Strong editorial skills and ability to grasp technical concepts and translate them to compelling end-user content
- Ability to make a positive contribution as demonstrated by learning new skills and making suggestions for enhancements to the HTK marketing communications program
- Ability to work with others in a collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational and time management abilities; sense of urgency to support time-sensitive communications and projects
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, assignments in a changing environment with competing priorities

Required Experience
- Demonstrated experience with professional writing and social media platforms
- Experience or interest in financial services a plus
EDUCATION/LICENSES/PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related area of study
