    POSITION OVERVIEW 

    This position provides a full range of corporate communications and public relations leadership to a variety of stakeholders including Penn Mutual’s executives, home and field office associates, boards, rating agencies, and regulatory organizations.  This is a hands-on role that requires a broad knowledge of communications and public relations coupled with the ability to build strong collaborative relationships and credibility with executive leaders and other stakeholders.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Manage all internal and external corporate communications, including public relations
    • Work closely with the Executive Team to craft communications to all audiences: customers (policyholders), home office associates, field office associates and advisers, board members, and regulatory bodies
    • Oversee all internal communications to the Home Office and Field to ensure clarity and connection of messages to the company strategy, priorities and culture
    • Develop a wide range of communications tactics, both formal and informal, including press releases, annual reports, newsletters, digital content, emails, speechwriting, videos and more
    • Proactively develop and maintain relationships with external institutions (media, industry, press, other) to promote Penn Mutual’s brand identity and awareness
    • Be the spokesperson and point person for external media relations
    • Work in partnership with other Marketing teams to differentiate Penn Mutual to B2B and B2C audiences
    • Lead and develop a high-performing team of internal and external communications professionals
    • Other responsibilities may be assigned

    Required Experience

    • Minimum of 10 years leadership experience in corporate communications, including internal/external communications and media/public relations
    • Track record of national media activity and placement
    • Must have a strong background in developing messages on behalf of a corporation and its executives
    • Experience in building and leading high-performing teams
    • Financial services industry experience a plus

     

    EDUCATION/LICENSES/PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Business Administration or other relevant discipline required; advanced degree a plus
