    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Provide application programming and design to implement new and improved life and annuity products.  This position requires knowledge of Cyberlife processing with a focus on VP/MS processing and calculations.  This person will play a key role in collaboration across IM&T and various departments to help set technical vision and solutions based upon corporate goals while also leading a technical team. Additionally will provide day to day support as determined by prioritized needs.  This role is responsible for the translation of functional requirements into technology solutions with a constant focus on business process improvement and product development.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    TECHNICAL

    • Performs technical and business analysis for written specifications and requirements
    • Creates technical requirement specifications
    • Reviews and validates calculation models (Excel, VP/MS, etc.) for life and annuity products
    • Designs, tests, and implements customized code within Cyberlife for annuity products using VPMS
    • Identifies and recommends improvement opportunities in methods of modular code design, calculation, testing and implementation
    • Participates in the design, documentation, development and testing of New Products on the Cyberlife platform
    • Supports Model Office activities, including the setup and initialization of new environments and the resolution of data, process and application issues as they arise

    Required Skills

    • Strong understanding of VP/MS processing
    • Strong Cyberlife product design skills
    • Required expert-level application development skills: CICS, COBOL, VSAM, Mainframe (TSO/ISPF/JCL/Xpediter) processing
    • A working knowledge of ACORD/XML/Unix/Oracle would be a plus
    • Strong knowledge of insurance products and operations
    • Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships and resolve conflicts across organizations.
    • Ability to make decisions, plan, multi-task and prioritize work towards the achievement of personal and corporate objectives
    • Solid communication skills – verbal and written
    • Strong customer focus
    • Strong and proven analysis, judgment, decision making, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills working in an autonomous and proactive manner

    Required Experience

    EXPERIENCE

    • 10+ years’ experience of professional Information Technology
    • Proven expert knowledge and 7+ years of current hands on application development experience, supporting Mainframe Life Insurance applications
    • Experience working with Cyberlife system is required
    • Knowledge of other related products (NBA, CPD, and AWD) is a plus
    • Experience with Agile software development is a plus
    • Experience with source code and change management processes and concepts

     

    EDUCATION/LICENSES/PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS

    • Bachelors or higher-level degree in Information Technology or related discipline
