POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing Coordinator is an entry-level position that will serve in a direct support role for the INDYCAR and IMS Marketing and Communications teams.
This individual will have an opportunity to gain experience across the marketing mix, including strategic planning, digital and social marketing, event marketing, public relations, creative campaign development, community engagement and other functions. This role will also help plan and execute activations and events at select NTT INDYCAR SERIES races. While this position reports to the Sr. Manager of Fan Development, they will collaborate with and deliver projects for INDYCAR and IMS Marketing and Communications leadership.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Assist the Senior Manager, Fan Engagement and Development and Manager, Community Outreach with planning and servicing of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES’ fan club, IMS Kids Club, official charities, community programs and other fan engagement initiatives.
- Assist the Senior Manager, Fan Engagement and Development and the Manager, Community Outreach with planning and implementing grassroots marketing strategy, focusing on engaging new fans to meet objectives.
- Plan and execute fan engagement events at race events, special events and other opportunities as assigned.
- Assist the Director, Event Ops and Special Events with planning and execution of at-track activations, including pre- and post-race ceremonies, showcar program, two-seater program, public address, closed circuit tv program (Big Screen Program).
- Support the Social lead in community management and engagement of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES social audiences.
- Partner with the Director, Digital Marketing and Manager, Research and Analytics to generate and distribute key INDYCAR and IMS reporting documents, including but not limited to race recaps, monthly KPI reporting, mid-season and post-season recaps.
- Assist Marketing Communications and Partner Strategy teams in managing and delivering key partner assets through the INDYCAR and IMS Marketing plans.
- Collaborate with Director, Editorial Services and other editorial contributors to ensure key fan communications are planned and executed on time and according to the larger content plan.
- In partnership with Marketing and Communications team members, curate email campaign and content schedule, deliver email marketing messages across INDYCAR email database.
- In partnership with the Marketing and Communications team members, curate email campaign and content schedule and INDYCAR data base management; partner with the Director, Editorial Services and Art Director, to ensure content and creative are planned for on-time delivery based on the content calendar.
- Support Communications and PR team in planning of industry and race events.
- Responsible for designing and building Marketing Communications presentations for internal and/or external use.
- Other duties as assigned by Senior Manager, Fan Engagement and Development or Director, Event Ops and Special Events.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or other relevant field or equivalent experience required.
Skills/Experience
- 1-2 years’ experience in event, sports, or brand marketing. Those individuals with limited work experience will benefit from completed internships that included several of the above responsibilities in a similar field.
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinker and self-starter who demonstrates attention to detail, comfort with ambiguity, ability to manage change and balance competing/evolving priorities.
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment and on short deadlines and work exceptionally well with other in a close team environment.
- Knowledge of Motorsports, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, NTT INDYCAR SERIES and other related activities.
Travel/Work Hours
- This job requires travel to NTT INDYCAR SERIES and working Indianapolis Motor Speedway events. When not traveling, there will be weekend and holiday work when race events are held.
- Candidate can expect to travel to/work 10-12 NTT INDYCAR SERIES events each season and other travel as needed.
- Candidate should expect to work special events throughout the calendar year, including end of season Championship Celebration.

- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
- May require long period of time on feet, walking long distances at racetracks, etc.
