    People Operations Partner at a High-End Japanese Restaurant

    📍 Brea, CA 💰 $93,600/year 🕒 Full-Time | Monday–Friday ✈️ Travel Required (LA & Las Vegas – approx. 1 month total) **Japanese-English bilingual position

    About the Role

    A high-end Japanese restaurant group is seeking a People Operations Partner to support our growing operations in California and Nevada.

    This role is ideal for someone who understands the fast-paced reality of restaurant operations and thrives in high-volume hiring environments. You will lead full-cycle recruitment, support store openings, and partner directly with Unit Managers to ensure strong, consistent hiring practices across locations.

    What You’ll Do

    Talent Acquisition & Hiring Support

    Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly, supervisory, and management roles

    Conduct on-site hiring events and interviews

    Build talent pipelines for high-turnover and new store opening roles

    Partner with Unit Managers to align hiring with operational needs

    Track recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, offer acceptance rate, etc.)

    Coordinate hiring efforts for new store openings

    Onboarding & HR Operations

    Manage background checks, I-9 verification, and onboarding documentation

    Support and lead new-hire orientations

    Maintain HRIS records and employee file compliance

    Partner with payroll and benefits teams to resolve employee questions

    HR Partnership & Employee Support

    Advise managers on HR best practices and hiring standards

    Provide guidance on employment law basics (wage & hour, meal/rest periods, etc.)

    Support employee relations matters across units

    What We’re Looking For

    Required

    Recruitment experience in the restaurant industry (fine dining preferred)

    Bilingual in Japanese and English

    Experience in restaurant operations, hospitality, or multi-unit environments

    Strong communication skills with frontline staff and leadership

    Experience managing high-volume hiring

    Preferred

    Experience with Japanese restaurants or food wholesale industry

    New store opening or pre-opening experience

    Multi-location or franchise operations background
